Town Board Meeting

Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 6:30 p.m.  A regular Board Meeting for the Town of Trempealeau will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. in the Town Office, W24854 ST RD 54/93, Centerville.  The agenda for the meeting will be posted near the door 24 hours prior to said meeting.  Sonja A. Special Board Meeting

Please take notice that the Town Board of the Town of Trempealeau may be together for the purpose of viewing and rating town roads for maintenance and repair for 2018. Said meeting will start at the Town Office, W24854 St Rd 54/93, Centerville and will move around the Township on March 28 – 30, 2018 commencing at 8:00 a.m. each day, weather permitting.   No other business will be transacted.


Special Board Meeting

Tuesday, March 27, 2018 @ 6:30 p.m.  Please take notice that the Town Board of the Town of Trempealeau will be together on March 27, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. to interview possible attorneys for the town to replace Attorney Daniel Diehn who has been appointed as District Attorney for Jackson County by Governor Scott Walker.  Said meeting will be held in closed session pursuant to Wis. Stats. 19.85(1)(g) for the purpose of conferring with legal counsel who is providing advice concerning strategy to be adopted with regard to potential and threatened litigation. Said meeting will take place at the Town of Trempealeau Town Hall, W24854 State Road 54/93, Centerville, WI. No other business will be transacted.


Public Testing of Election Equipment

Under Wisconsin State Statute 5.84(1), public tests of the electronic voting equipment will be held to ascertain that the equipment will correctly count the April 3, 2018 votes cast for all offices and on all measures.  All tests are open to the public.

The test shall be conducted by processing a pre-audited group of ballots so marked as to record a predetermined number of valid votes for each candidate and on each referendum (when applicable).  The test shall include for each office one or more ballots which have votes in excess of the number allowed by law in order to test the ability of the automatic tabulating equipment to reject such votes.  An errorless count must be made before the Clerk can approve the equipment for use in the election.

TOWN CAUCUS – JANUARY 11, 2018 – 7:00 P.M.

ORDINANCE TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF TOWN BOARD SUPERVISORS FROM TWO TO FOUR

No. 2017-003

WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Trempealeau, hereby moves to increase the number of Town Supervisors from two (2) to four (4); and

WHEREAS, a caucus will be held the week of January 8, 2018 to take nominations for Town Supervisor three (3) and four (4) positions.

THEREFORE, be it hereby ordained by the Town Board of the Town of Trempealeau, Trempealeau County, that two (2) additional supervisors be added to the Town Board.

This ordinance shall be effective upon publication or posting by the town clerk as required, pursuant to s. 60.80., Wis. Stat.
